Jeju Island Biosphere Reserve has twinned with Wudalianchi Biosphere Reserve in China so we can share experiences and ideas, work on projects together, and learn from one another about how to achieve the sustainable development goals.
Wudalianchi Biosphere Reserve is located in the north of Heilongjiang province China, at the ecotone between the Lesser Khingan Range and the Songnen Plain. This 1060 square kilometer region boasts 14 volcanoes, both young and old, a magnificent lava plateau spanning more than 800 square kilometers, and hundreds of naturally occurring mineral springs. As a result of 7 volcanic eruptions that took place over the past 2.1 million years, WBR is the well-preserved intra-continental volcanic remains in China.
