Jeju Uprising Language Literature Writings about the Jeju Uprising have occasionally been published ever since the incident starting with Hyun Ki Yung's novel Soonie Uncle from the late Yushin era. Discussion about the incident had been condemned due to communist riots and literature about the incident took the lead in changing distorted views. Literature about the Jeju Uprising went further than academics or journalism to become a place where important discussion could take place, and played the role of pioneers.
